How it works
Ala carte sessions:
The 10th-11th grade consulting is available as individually purchased sessions. Sessions focus on one student in the family and include homework for the student and family.
In addition to the formal meetings and reviews, you will also have access to Dr. Eckles for quick questions as needed at no additional cost.
Families who previously purchased all 8th-9th grade sessions receive a 25% discount on any future session for that student.
Session descriptions:
| Long List Creation $350 | The student and family will have the opportunity to learn how to use multiple tools to search for colleges and universities in the U.S. We will also discuss how to use search tools as a way to begin to identify characteristics of an institution that may be important to the student or the family and how to refine the list. We will also cover ways to research institutions on the long list. |
| Trip Planning Part I $300 | Talk about the different types of institutions in the U.S. and target examples of the different types for visits. Discuss what to expect on a college visit, what and who to bring, what questions to ask, and how to squeeze the most value possible from a trip. |
| Trip Planning Part II $500 | Plan a trip to at least one institution. This includes registering with the admission office, identifying off-campus venues and activities to explore, setting up meetings with college faculty and staff outside admission, and planning the logistics of the travel itself. Includes a trip budget worksheet. |
| Resumé Building $350 | Create the document that will record the student’s accomplishments and activities and that will serve as the primary source document for applications in the senior year. Build a document that can be adapted to job hunting, scholarship applications, and college applications and can also be used as a resource for recommenders. |
